NEAR OCEAN, an exhibition of paintings, took place at the BALLINGLEN GALLERY, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo, from 16th September – 28th October 2016. The works were mainly inspired by the coastline of North Mayo and in particular based on numerous return visits to the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ballycastle, Co. Mayo. Joe Dunne is a fellow of the Foundation and has spent time there on a number of occasions since his first visit in 2003. The show contains a selection of works in various media, involving different approaches from plein air responses to more considered and formalised studio works.
